Islamabad: According to NIH sources, there has been a diarrhoea outbreak in the capital region with 2157 instances registered in the past 30 days, according to ARY News.


Details indicate that rural parts of Islamabad have recorded the majority of diarrhoea cases. However, according to NIH sources, 90% of patients didn't require hospital admission.


No deaths associated with diarrhoea have been documented, according to NIH sources, although the majority of cases have been reported at the Poly Clinic Hospital in Islamabad.


In the past week, Poly Clinic Hospital received reports of 991 cases, 324 of which were paediatric cases. In the past week, PIMS hospital reported 245 instances in total.



In addition, Islamabad reportedly reported 21 cases of cholera this season. NIH authorities stated that there have been no recorded cases of cholera or diarrheal mortality.


A health crisis is developing in Lahore earlier in May as a result of the city's hospitals receiving hundreds of patients with typhoid, diarrhoea, and other illnesses as a result of the ongoing hot wave.
